Wednesday 21st July 1999, Livin La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin was top of the charts (you would of been able to illegally download from Napster), Inspector Gadget has just been released to your local UCI cinema. 

Remember when everyone had a full-blown meltdown about Y2K destroying your computers? The Y2K scare came from projections that computers would face catastrophic breakdowns as soon as the clock struck midnight on January 1, unable to recognise the year "2000" with it's current software.

What did we know? In 1999, PayPal was voted one of the 10 worst business ideas. It is now a billion-dollar brand, use by nearly 300 million consumers. 

Netflix who? Back in 1999, DVDs were just starting to overtake VHS tapes.

These days, you can listen to music, instantly on most devices, 24/7 and legally. However, back in 1999 Napster was created, it allowed us to download music, 1 song would take about an hour to download, (llegally).

Bill Gates time traveller? In 1999, Bill Gates predicted things like Social Media, Smart Phones, Online Payment systems and Online Job Recruitment.

One thing Bill Gates didn't predict though, was the company Crusade Computer Solutions Ltd, started by Chris Quick and Andy Gladwish would still be thriving in 2020
